THE RULES:
Arranging Matches:
ALL matches MUST be arranged with The Sportsman (Tel: 01376 344160) giving at least 24 hours in advance of the booking time.
Due to local team matches taking place on Tuesday nights, no matches are to be booked after 4pm.
You’ll be allocated a maximum of 2 matches per month and details of these will be on your fixtures list. It is the responsibility of both players to arrange their matches.
If you are unable to arrange / play your match, you MUST notify the organiser at least 10 days before the allocated month’s deadline date for which an alternative arrangement can be made. Failure to notify the organiser will result in the match being void if not played by the deadline date and a possible fine.
Any match can be played early providing those in the allocated month are played by the end of that month.
Players are expected to turn up for their match at least 15 minutes before the booked time. If you are running late, please contact your opponent immediately (Not whilst driving)
Cancelling Matches:
If you need to re-arrange or cancel a match, either player (after agreement) needs to contact The Sportsman direct (01376 344160) and advise them of the relevant changes.
Match Rules:
ALL matches will be played to WORLD RULES only and MUST be played at The Sportsman.
ALL matches during the group stages are played over 10 frames.
(ALL frames MUST be played).
The Sportsman will contribute £2 prior to the start of the match.
Players will pay for the table (£2 = 3 Frames / £1 = 1 Frame), with the contribution from The Sportsman, your table fees should cost £2.50
The score card is simple to fill in, just put in your names under ‘Player ‘A’ and Player ‘B’ and write A or B next to the frame that was won by that player. When the match is finished, put in the final score and hand it to a member of staff.
No Shows:
Failure to turn up to a match will result in the following:
· Both players fail to turn up and 30 minutes has passed from the scheduled match time - The match will be cancelled and both players may receive a possible fine.
· One player turns up and 30 minutes has passed after from the scheduled match time – Every 10 minutes thereafter, his/her opponent will forfeit 2 frames. At 6-0 the player waiting around is free to leave and the final score will be 10-0 (Please ensure the score card is filled in as normal). The player failing to turn up will have 2 points deducted and may receive a possible fine.
Fines:
During Event 1, two players received a fine; these are in place to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible.
Any player failing to abide to any rules will be fined up to a maximum 3 times.
1st Fine = £5
This fine will be payable prior to your next match, failure to pay, failure to play!
2nd Fine = £15
This fine will also be payable prior to your next match, failure to pay, failure to play!
3rd Fine = £25
If you incur this fine, you’ll be removed from the event.
ALL incurred fines must be paid before entering any future events.
